Active, Critical Reading
Essay One: I really believe Im doing a good job of active, critical reading. If you look at the annotated samples of the articles we read for Essay #1 then you’ll see I make text-to-self, text-to-world connections in addition to connecting other texts we read. I hi-light important parts and make notes to help myself remember parts of the literatures. (See pictures of annotations below)

Next, my blog posts. When talking about Anne Hallward Safe Space podcast focused around LGBTQ teens I made a connection to Martha Hall.
“This podcast relates to Martha Halls visual story we viewed through her books because it was one story that many people could have viewed to create change, where as this one podcast in audio form could be the one story that many people would have listened to to create change.”
To make improvements for the future, I would like to focus more on diving even deeper into my text-to-world/self/text connections even deeper.
Essay Two: I still believe that this learning objective is one of my strongest. Throughout my reading, Im consistently making text-to-self and text-to-world connections. In addition, I also try to make connections with other texts we’ve read throughout the semester. I still hi-light important parts and make notes to help myself remember parts of the literatures. I really enjoy active, critical reading, because it makes me dive even deeper into a form of literature by making connections and comparisons, rather than just simply reading a passage.
