After reading Kathleen Dean Moores interview, she very strongly expresses her concerns and beliefs about what it takes to create societal change. Climate change, better known as cultural aggression is destroying us and our planets most beautiful creatures. The potential damage of climate change leads to damaged food supplies and spreading disease. Moore believes we are to put the blame for the current state of our planet to the parents of our generations. Moore states, “The only thing we have to do to be sure we will leave a ruined world for our children and our grandchildren is to do exactly what we are doing now (2)”. Old age needs to pay back the world, they need to think about us; the young and upcoming generations. Moore strictly believes older generations are key for the change because our elders have a lot of background experience, sufficient income, time, and most importantly; love for their children and grandchildren. Moore believes, “to love someone is to have a sacred obligation to protect them (12)”. Parents running their kids to soccer practice, and shopping for school supplies isn’t helping better our planet. She predicts that by the year 2025 this behavior and neglect to our planet will result to extinction of songbirds, bats, frogs, and salmon.
